Positive Parenting Part 4: Conscious Discipline
Why your brain state matters
Hi everyone!
Welcome spring, pollen, flowers & sunshine! The staff and I are so excited to be attending many spring community events and hope to see you there! (Scroll down for the calendar!)
Thank you to everyone who filled out our survey last month. We learned a lot about your event preferences, your hopes for parenting education, and your priorities. As a result of your feedback, we’ve decided to focus our efforts this Spring on connecting individually with parents, developing and implementing the workshops you requested, and making community care a bigger priority. Please stay tuned for some exciting announcements coming next month!
Be sure to scroll down to the calendar to see the many ways you can connect with TAPS at an upcoming event or by joining one of our programs!
This month Susan A. Johns is back on the blog with another positive parenting practice for us to reflect upon. This month we’re exploring Conscious Discipline, brain states, and techniques for supporting our children (and ourselves) in reaching the calm state where we can use logic to solve problems.
I love Susan’s reflections on how much our child’s emotional state influences their ability to listen to reason and learn. This month’s blog is super needed.
Big things are coming soon!
We’re planning some fantastic expansions for the community this Spring and summer. Stay tuned for some incredible announcements about opportunities to get connected with more of the support, resources, and education you’ve been asking for.
We can’t wait to share all the amazing plans with you!
While we’re putting these new exciting plans in place, we’d love your help with prepare for these big announcements - will you join us at one of our upcoming volunteer events?
